Since moving to Arizona in 1997, Ruth Atkinson Lusby has concentrated her practice on family law matters:  divorce and legal separation, paternity, child custody, child support, grandparents rights, prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, guardianship and conservatorship.  She appears regularly in the courts of Maricopa, Pinal and Yavapai Counties.  

Ruth Lusby is also a family law mediator and collaborative divorce attorney.  

Ruth Lusby is a past President of the Arizona Association for Conflict Resolution. She is also past President of the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators, and currently serves as its Treasurer. She is a member in good standing of the Arizona, Maryland, Maricopa County and Scottsdale Bar Associations.  She is also a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Collaborative Divorce Professionals of Arizona. 

A trial attorney for over 26 years, Ruth Lusby is also experienced in a broad range of civil litigation involving business and contract disputes, life and disability insurance coverage, eminent domain, personal injury and  landlord-tenant and homeowners association matters.

Ms. Lusby is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Arizona and Maryland, and in 1999 she was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.  She earned her baccalaureate degree, summa cum laude, at Towson University in Baltimore.  She is an honors graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, following which she was chosen for a judicial clerkship before becoming the first woman to rise to partnership in an established Baltimore firm.  She has received mediation and collaborative divorce training in Arizona and Maryland, and advanced mediation training at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
